Quantum Learning Network Nominated for Excellence Award
The San Diego Society for Human Resource Management has announced the nominees for its tenth annual Workplace Excellence Awards. Quantum Learning Network has been nominated, along with a number of other businesses in San DiegoCounty.
Headquartered in Oceanside, Quantum Learning Network is a worldwide leader in learning and life skills training. More than 53,000 students have graduated from QLN's SuperCamp academic summer camps since the program launched in 1982.
QLN's Quantum Learning Education division provides professional staff development training in Quantum Learning methods to teachers in elementary, middle and high school. QL Education also trains students directly in programs that develop their learning skills, life skills and character. QL Education offers school and district administrator training programs geared to building effective leadership skills.
SuperCamp provides students in sixth grade through college with valuable skills that studies have shown help increase grade, confidence, self-esteem and motivation. These programs are held on prestigious school campuses, such as Stanford, UCLA and WakeForest, each summer. All camps are residential, meaning the students reside on-campus for the duration. Camps vary in length from seven days to ten days.
Bobbi DePorter, president of Quantum Learning Network, expressed her gratitude in having her company recognized with the nomination. "At QLN, we are constantly striving toward excellence, so it is nice to be recognized in receiving this nomination," said DePorter.
Communities of Excellence is a character-education program for schools that provides teachers with monthly character curriculum built around Ms. DePorter's 8 Keys of Excellence. Learning Forum International is looking to tie in with a corporate sponsor in early 2010 to offer the program free to schools nationwide for fall 2010.
The SD SHRM Workplace Excellence Awards ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines.
