Developers Diversified Realty Corp. (NYSE: DDR) said Monday it named Daniel B. Hurwitz president and chief executive, effective Jan. 1, according to Associated Press.
The real estate investment trust said that Hurwitz, 45, succeeds Scott A. Wolstein, 57. Wolstein will serve as executive chairman of the board.

Before joining Developers Diversified, Hurwitz served as senior vice president and director of real estate and corporate development for Boscovs Department Store Inc. Hurwitz also served as development director for the Shopco Group, a developer and acquirer of regional and super regional shopping malls.
Shares of Developers Diversified stock rose 75 cents to $8.66 in afternoon trading Monday.
