MARYLAND HOME STAGING EXPERT PAULA HENRY APPEARS LIVE ON WBAL RADIO WITH DAVE DORIAN
PAULA HENRY OF SIMPLY PUT INTERIORS GIVES SOUND ADVICE FOR SELLERS IN A BUYERS MARKET
Baltimore, Maryland March 6, 2007 – Maryland Home Staging expert, Paula Henry appeared live on WBAL radio with Dave Dorian. Paula Henry of Simply Put Interiors gives sound advice for sellers in a buyers market. Home sales are declining. There is a surplus of homes for sale. Sellers are offering buyer incentives. It is a buyer’s market. Is there any hope for today’s seller? For thoughts, comments and solutions, talk show host Dave Dorian of WBAL radio turned to the expert for advice…Simply Put Interiors’, Paula Henry.
Henry appeared on WBAL am 1090 on March 5, 2007 with Dave Dorian to answer questions and provide tips for Staging a house. The expert says, “Home Staging is about seducing the buyer. The idea is to have them feel good about a house the moment they walk in.” Henry further explained the importance of understanding neighboring competition and depersonalizing a house. “You are selling the house, not your stuff. This means packing up clutter, editing closets and proper furniture placement.”
When Simply Put Interiors is called in, they conduct a full Market Ready Assessment which is based on a national scoring system. “We go from curbside to bedside,” Henry says. The homeowners are given their homes final scores along with a Homeowner Action List detailing things they can do to bring the property into Market Ready condition. This, Henry says is of utmost importance since many properties see the most traffic in the first few weeks of being listed. “Many sellers will rush to get the sign in the yard before the house is really ready to be shown. Jumping the gun can be a costly mistake,” she cautions.
As a Professional Home Stager, Henry is equipped to provide Ambiance Package Rentals which include goodies from vases and small accessories to some upholstered furniture. For larger pieces, Simply Put Interiors assists homeowners with selection and rental of furniture if necessary. “Our first goal is to utilize what the homeowner already has, but sometimes it is necessary to bring in rentals,” Henry states.
Henry advices calling in a Professional Home Stager before putting a property on the market but says it is never too late. “The adage ‘you have to spend money to make money’ is true when selling a house. The small investment to have a property Professionally Staged is a relatively small investment which pays off at the settlement table. The cost of Staging a house is usually much less than the cost of a price reduction,” Henry advises.
In addition to Professional Home Staging, Simply Put Interiors offers a full range of decorating services including Interior Redesign or One Day Decorating, Color Consultations, Custom Window Treatments and more. Their web-site is www.simplyputinteriors.com
