Elisabeth Hasselbeck is saying goodbye to The View after a decade of co-hosting. The departure has been confirmed by Hasselbeck as well as ABC and Barbara Walters. The 36-year-old former Survivor contestant is making her way to Fox’s daytime talk show Fox & Friends to replace Gretchen Carlson.
“We have had ten wonderful years with Elisabeth and she will now be swimming in new waters,” Walters said. “We will miss her and wish her everything good.”
Hasselbeck will join Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on Fox & Friends in mid-September. "I have been a longtime fan of Fox & Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home,” she said in a statement.
"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View," added Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. “She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."
The news comes just four months after Walters denied rumors Hasselbeck was being forced off of The View because of her “extreme” conservative views.
