Tim Duncan scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while Manu Ginobili added 23 points and Michael Finley dropped 20 as the San Antonio Spurs (43-18) used a fourth quarter surge to beat the Portland Trail Blazers (25-36) 99-94.
Portland led 92-85 with just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter but San Antonio suddenly caught fire from beyond the three-point line and buried four triples in the space of a minute and a half to grab a 97-92 lead. Ginobili sealed the game for the Spurs with a jumper with 9 seconds remaining.
The Spurs hit five straight three-pointers in the fourth, a huge turnaround from a 4-16 performance from that distance up until the streak. The win marked the Spurs 10th straight victory but they can’t make up any ground in the Southwest Division since the Dallas Mavericks have won 16 straight.
Zach Randolph led the Blazers with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
