Police now have in custody a single gunman suspected of taking an assistant principal hostage at the Stissing Mountain High School in upstate New York.
According to Pine Plains Town Supervisor Gregg Pulver the gunman was an adult, not a student. Pulver did not mention a motive for the incident but there were reports that the gunman had a son in the military and he was unhappy with the government.
The high school was placed on lockdown early Tuesday morning after police received a call notifying them of the crisis.
