Fluor Corporation (NEW) (NYSE:FLR) decreases 6.04% to $45.11 after the company lowered its earnings view for the year to $3.75 to $3.90 a share from the $3.80 to $4.10 it reiterated in September, pointing to recent cancellations, scope reductions and delays, among other things. It guided for per-share earnings of $3.20 to $3.60, in line with Wall Street's projection for $3.58. Fluor reported earnings of $162.1 million, or 89 cents a share, down from $181.9 million, or $1, a year earlier. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had most recently forecast earnings of 90 cents on $5.49 billion in sales.

Pike Electric Corporation (NYSE:PIKE) decreases 19.82% to $9.91 after the company reported a loss in its first-quarter yesterday, as a weak economy pushed its customers to defer maintenance and good weather severely limited its storm-restoration work. For the three months ended Sept. 30, Pike reported a loss of $2.7 million on revenue of $127.2 million, compared with net income of $18.3 million on revenue of $185.5 million for the period in 2009. Storm-restoration revenue dropped from $77.7 million to $2.5 million.

Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABAT) decreases 6.58% to $3.41 after the company yesterday announced that its third-quarter net income was $4.8 million or $0.08 per share, compared to $4.4 million, or $0.08 per share in the third quarter of 2008. Operating income for the third quarter was $5.2 million, a 3.0% increase from $5.1 million during the third quarter of 2008. Revenue for the third quarter was $17.7 million, a 39.9% increase from $12.7 million in the third quarter of 2008.
