SANUWAVE Health (SNWV) PACE Technology Decreases Tissue Damage During Microsurgery

QualityStocks would like to highlight SANUWAVE Health, Inc. (OTCBB: SNWV), an emerging leader in the development and commercialization of a high- energy, focused, shock wave technology that is used in devices for the repair and regeneration of bones, muscles, tendons, and skin, and for the separation of solids and fluid in non-medical systems. SANUWAVE’s proprietary, patented Pulsed Acoustic Cellular Expression (PACE) technology emits high-energy, acoustic shock waves that restore the body’s normal healing processes. This activates biologic signaling which leads to tissue repair and regeneration and blood vessel growth – revascularization and microcirculatory enhancement.

In the company’s news,

SANUWAVE Health reported that pre-clinical results using its PACE technology were presented to the 2013 World Congress of Microsurgery by Dr. Maria Siemionow. She is a world-renowned scientist and microsurgeon and is the director of plastic surgery research and of microsurgical training at Cleveland Clinic’s department of plastic surgery. Her specialties are: microsurgery, hand surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, transplantation, and microcirculation research.

The results showed that the application of its lead product candidate for the wound care market, dermaPACE, appeared to significantly decrease the inflammation and tissue damage that typically occurs when blood flow is interrupted during microsurgical procedures. A prolonged cutoff of blood supply occurs during complex microsurgical procedures. This can lead to serious, post-operative complications including muscle damage and tissue necrosis.

SANUWAVE’s dermaPACE addresses these possible complications. Dr. Siemionow said, “If these [pre-clinical] results hold true in further investigations, such an effect should lead to quicker and more complete tissue healing in a variety of medical and surgical settings.” In other words, reducing inflammation through the use of PACE treatments could provide benefits to both patients and doctors.
