American Cornhole begins the ACO World Championships of Cornhole week with a kickoff party at the Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport and is inviting the public.
“We wanted to give the public a chance to mingle with cornhole enthusiasts, and maybe meet an ACO Pro,” said Frank Geers, President of the ACO.
More than 17 States are represented in the week long tournament to be held at Turfway Park in Florence, KY. – a fully enclosed facility. The championship event is like a festival of events with social players and professional players competing for various titles and a shot at $10,000 in prize monies.
This year’s event promises to be even bigger as Kenny Mayne is bringing his ESPN “Wider World of Sports” to town to shoot much of the event. Mayne will play in the Open tournament held Thursday July 18th to earn one of the 64 spots in the King of Cornhole.

About Turfway Park
Part of Kentucky’s year round Thoroughbred racing circuit,
Turfway Park presents live racing from December through March. Opened in 1959 as Latonia Race Course, the track was renamed Turfway Park in 1986 and has been owned since 1999 by a partnership that currently includes Caesars Entertainment, Rock Gaming, and Keeneland Association. Known for innovation, Turfway Park introduced night racing to Kentucky, was the first Kentucky track to offer simulcast and intertrack wagering, and in 2005 pioneered the use of an all-weather surface for racing. Turfway Park is home to the $550,000 Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati Spiral Stakes (G3), a designated prep race for the Kentucky Derby.
