Emma Roberts’ weekend ended with her arrest for domestic violence, but apparently the incident that led to her arrest was simply a “misunderstanding.” In a joint statement released Tuesday, reps for Roberts and her boyfriend Evan Peters said the couple remains united in working through the situation.
"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it,” the reps said.
According to reports, police responded to a call about a disturbance inside the hotel room Roberts, 22, and Peters, 26, were sharing in Montreal. Responding officers found Peters with a bloody nose and a bite mark on his body. Roberts was taken into custody immediately, but was later released when Peters refused to press charges.
Roberts’ upcoming films include We’re the Millers and Delirium. She will also appear alongside Peters in American Horror Story.
