MLB News: Ichiro Suzuki and Torii Hunter Lead Charge in American League Gold Glove Awards

Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki and LA Angels outfielder Torii Hunter each landed their ninth consecutive Gold Glove on Tuesday, heading up a list of Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners for the American League.

While Ichiro and Hunter collected their ninth Gold Glove it was a first-time honor for Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria, Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones and Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle.

The New York Yankees placed a pair of players on Gold Glove list as shortstop Derek Jeter and first baseman Mark Teixeira picked up hardware.

Rounding out the nine awards hand out, Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer and Detroit Tigers second baseman Placido Polanco each landed their second Gold Glove.
