Cornerstone Sustainable Energy, LLC.’s (Stock Symbol: RCVA) PwrCor™ Engine is a thermal hydraulic engine that produces energy using low-grade heat. Until now, all market and scientific attention has been focused on the higher-temperature geothermal opportunities, but the Pwrcor™ Engine is taking energy in a whole different direction.
Finally, there is a technology that can take advantage of the enormous and largely unexploited low-grade geothermal heat sources that have been drilled throughout the United States. While many of these have already been identified and mapped, they have been left unused because they did not produce enough heat or their volume was too low to be adequate. Therefore, despite the great cost to drill them, these holes were capped and left.
It is very important that there is now technology like the Pwrcor™ Engine to take advantage of these costs because even though there are no real assessments of the size of lower-temperature market opportunities, some of the best estimates to date put the size around 3 times the existing opportunity in the U.S. alone and 10 times the existing market in general.
There are two ways that Cornerstone Sustainable Energy, LLC. can use the Pwrcor™ Engine, one is to provide solutions to the new and totally unexploited low-grade geothermal market and improve the efficiency of the existing high-temperature geothermal installations. By using the vast and totally unexploited waste heat that is produced after the primary heat cycle is complete, the Pwrcor™ Engine is able to improve the existing geothermal installations’ efficiency.
Additionally, geothermal and other wells are drilled throughout the United States that either have volume that is inadequate or the heat level is too low. Older technologies were unable to take advantage of these wells so they were simply written off. The older technologies like the Organic Rankine Cycle technology and others were too focused on the higher temperature geothermal opportunities both internationally and within the U.S., but now the Pwrcor™ Engine, which is a very “green” source of alternative energy, is able to use the low-grade heat from these wells as well as waste heat from the bottoming cycle after the primary cycle is complete.
