On the same day that the NBA suspended Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant one-game for hitting the Minnesota Timberwolves Marko Jaric, the Detroit Pistons guard Lindsey Hunter was handed a ten-game suspension for using a banned substance.
Hunter tested positive for phentermine on Wednesday, a shocking revelation to the popular Pistons player.
“It was a diet pill — we've all taken stuff and nothing ever happens.”
The league wasn’t as forgiving as Hunter would have liked. The substance is listed as a performance-enhancing drug under the NBA’s Anti-Drug program. The ten-game suspension is an automatic penalty.
