Shaquille O’Neal finished with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists while Eddie Jones added 23 points and the Miami Heat (31-29) blew out the Chicago Bulls (35-28) 109-70.
The Heat built a 19-point lead in the first quarter before settling for a 52-43 advantage at the half. Chicago was able to cut into the Miami lead and eventually whittled it down to three with 5:30 remaining in the third but the Heat responded in a big way.
Miami closed the third quarter with a 14-3 run and then dominated the fourth, putting up 31 points while allowing the Bulls just 12 points.
Antoine Walker finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Jason Williams added 7 assists to help the Heat move to 5-2 since Dwyane Wade went out with a shoulder injury. Miami hit 55 percent from the floor and 43 percent from beyond the three-point arc on the night.
