Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have quietly welcomed their second child together. Hola! reports Cruz delivered a healthy baby girl in Madrid on Monday. The baby shares a birthday with the newest member of Britain’s royal family, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s son.
Neither Cruz, 39, nor Bardem, 44, has commented. The baby joins brother Leo, 2. Cruz revealed her pregnancy in February, telling Spain’s TVE! that she was “tremendously happy and excited” about welcoming another child.
The actress previously called motherhood a “revolutionary experience.” "From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second,” she told Vogue magazine. “Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever."
Cruz and Bardem will appear together in the upcoming thriller The Counselor. The film also stars Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Cameron Diaz.
