CNAs Address the Problem of High Rate of Premature Births to Curb High Infant Mortality Rate in the USA

CNAs or Certified Nursing Assistants in the USA have taken an initiative to curb the high rate of infant mortality by addressing the current situation of high rates of premature birth. This got revealed by government researchers who have reported with current findings and data that the USA has a much higher rate of infant mortality when compared to most other developed countries in the world. The main reason for this has been the growing number of premature births. Thus, the CNAs have decided to find solutions to this longstanding problem.
The findings have revealed that compared to Sweden that recorded in 2005 that 6.3% of their total births were premature, whereas in the USA it was recorded at 12.4%. Moreover, there has been a significant difference in terms of infant mortality. For instance, in Sweden, for every 1,000 births only 2.4% infants died before turning a year old whereas in the USA, it was as high as 6.9%. The CNAs are therefore undertaking significant and effective measures to control this problem.
Since the most fragile, earliest and smallest babies were most often born to those women who have belonged to the minority communities or come from poor economical backgrounds who essentially lack social support and basic health care, the CNAs are undertaking humanitarian measures to provide free health care to such women.
The CNAs are taking special care of women’s problems and illnesses such as smoking, drug use and drinking before and during the delicate phase of pregnancy. This will help in preventing premature births to a considerable degree. They are also planning to launch special state programs to provide residential visits by the CNAs themselves to poor women to decrease and control preterm births. The CNAs believe that with their current and future efforts, they will be able to check the problem of high infant mortality in the USA very effectively.
