Prince William and Kate Middleton gave the world the first glimpse of their 1 day old son Tuesday as they left the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Sporting a blue dress with white polka dots, the Duchess of Cambridge held the future king as she smiled for the waiting photographers. Prince William, wearing a matching blue ensemble, remained by her side and held the baby at one point.
Middleton described her son’s birth as “very emotional.” “It's been very emotional. Any parent will know what this feeling is like,” she said.
William confirmed the baby arrived late, “I will remind him of his tardiness when he is older,” he joked.
He also confirmed that a name has not been chosen. “He's a big boy, quite heavy. We're still working on a name,” he said.
The new family left St. Mary’s in a waiting Range Rover. They will spend William’s two weeks of paternity leave at Kensington Palace.
