Steven Tyler Not Leaving Aerosmith

Steven Tyler is not leaving Aerosmith. Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry apparently worked through their differences only days after Perry said Tyler had quit the band.

Tyler and Perry made a surprise appear onstage at the Fillmore in New York Tuesday night and assured fans Tyler is not leaving. “I just want New York to know I’m not leaving Aerosmith,” Tyler told the audience.

Reports of Tyler quitting surfaced this week after Perry spoke to the Las Vegas Sun. “Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don’t know any more than you do about it. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know,” he said.

Apparently a rift formed between band members in August when Aerosmith was forced to cancel the rest of their tour due to Tyler falling off the stage during an Abu Dhabi concert.
