Student Leadership Training a Big Part of Summer Enrichment

Leadership training is being made available to students who attend a leading learning and life skills summer enrichment program held at several schools throughout the U.S. next summer.

SuperCamp is an
academic summer camp that divides its training between teaching campers powerful learning skills and valuable life skills that help them in school and in their personal lives. Junior Forum is available to students entering grades 6-8 in the fall and Senior Forum is open to students going into grades 9-12.

These
summer camp programs address communication, social, motivational, problem solving, interpersonal and many other skills that help young people develop into good leaders. In addition, students who attend one of SuperCamp's teen summer camps can return the next year and become part of the Leadership Training Team.

Campers who complete the Leadership Training Team program can move up to Leadership Forum, an eight-day camp, that focuses on the life and leadership skills.

"Leadership training among students is becoming a very hot topic," said SuperCamp president, Bobbi DePorter. "Students who want to play a role in their school's student government, as well as those who are preparing for success at the college level, see a great deal of value in our summer programs."

Ms. DePorter went on to say that surveys have shown that the percentage of SuperCamp grads who go directly from high school to a four-year college far exceeds the national average for high school seniors.

Other studies with SuperCamp grads report increases in grades, confidence, motivation and self-esteem among the majority of the campers.

SuperCamp is a residential camp program held at nine prestigious schools nationwide. Students live on-campus for the entire camp. Each year students attend SuperCamp from virtually every state and from several countries worldwide.
