Wisconsin Foreclosures Continue to Rise

Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

Although the pace of the increase slowed after a bump in September, Wisconsin foreclosure filings continue to rise.

This month, Wisconsin has 4,311 properties in some form of foreclosure and is ranked 18th in the nation in that category. Filings were up about four percent from September 2009 and 128 percent since October 2008.

Nationally, this month 332,292 homes fell into foreclosure, up nearly 19 percent from this month last year.

Wisconsin was recently named in a Pew Center on the States’ report naming it one of nine U.S. states facing a budget crisis comparable to California’s.
