Tim Duncan scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Tony Parker added 19 points and 6 assists as the San Antonio Spurs (45-18) beat the New Jersey Nets (28-35) 93-77 for their 12th straight victory.
The Spurs overcame a slow start and put together a solid second half and played tough defense to improve to 21-8 at home.
San Antonio has been using a combination of defense and a balance attack during their winning streak. Saturday’s victory was no different. Manu Ginobili scored 12 points and 4 assists, Brent Barry scored 11 and grabbed 7 rebounds and Robert Horry added 6 points and 6 rebounds.
New Jersey was able to cut an 18-point deficit down to 7 in the fourth quarter but Ginobili bumped the Spurs lead back to 10 on a three-pointer with a little more than six minutes remaining.
Vince Carter led the Nets with 17 points but was 0-5 from beyond the three-point arc. As a team, the Nets hit just 2-13 from that distance. San Antonio finished 7-16 from the triple line.
