Downsizing baby boomers and millenials entering the market, looking for compacts and subcompacts, will increase sales, said Pipas, who met with the Automotive Press Association in Detroit today.
Depending on the state of the economy, Ford predicts U.S. sales of around 12.5 million next year. This year, sales are running around a 10 million annual rate.
Pipas said that early sales results show November U.S. car sales looking like October, which was a respectable month for the U.S. auto industry.
