The game’s only goal came off the head of Rory Fallon as he sent the fateful ball into the back of the net just as the match was heading into the half, sending the crowd at the packed Westpac Stadium in Wellington into a frenzy.
The All Whites clinched a berth in the World Cup on with their 1-0 aggregate win after the two sides played to a 0-0 draw in Manama in their first leg of their qualifier.
