He was told many times that his drug addiction was an incurable disease.
He was told that his drug addiction was a problem that he would have to struggle with for the rest of his life.
He tried to quit by himself several times, but would always revert despite his best efforts and those around him.
Addicted to methamphetamine, he was told that recovery rates for this addiction are hard, if not impossible.
After being addicted to methamphetamine and prescription drugs for 14 years, Jason Lawing, 26, decided that enough was enough.
Facing charges of having unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and obtaining property by false pretense, Lawing decided he wanted to go to drug rehab rather than face jail time.
“My mother explained to the Judge that I needed drug rehab instead of prison,” commented Lawing. “We found The Atlanta Recovery Center Drug Rehab in Georgia, and I was given permission to go. I am very happy I made this decision.”
After spending four months in the premier drug rehab in Georgia, Jason still had his legal situation to handle. “I had extensive probation, where I was checked in with every night, for six months. Then I had supervised probation for two years (where he was randomly drug tested each month), which really helped when I would run into people I had known from the past who wanted me to do drugs with them,” he said.
Has it been worth it?
“The Atlanta Recovery Center Drug Rehab GA has saved my life,” he states simply.
This shows in more ways than one. He works now with his father, and was given full custody of his son in January. He has stayed clean for two years and enjoys life with his family. Thanks to the sauna detox program employed at The Atlanta Recovery Center Drug Rehab and the life skills learned, he can look forward and create a happy life instead of being hopelessly caught in the cycle of recovery-relapse.
Lawing said the four weeks in the detox regimen were “the meat and potatoes” of the program.
“I was told meth addiction was the hardest to beat,” comments Lawing. “Thankfully I learned that this is not true.”
