NFL News: Larry Johnson Rumored to be Heading to Cincinnati Bengals

Larry Johnson may not go unemployed for long as the former Kansas City Chiefs running back is rumored to be heading to the Cincinnati Bengals in a deal that would pay him a prorated league minimum salary.

The Bengals found themselves in need of depth at the running back position after leading rusher Cedric Benson injured his hip in Sunday’s win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Benson may be back in time for Cincinnati’s next game against the Oakland Raiders and the team has denied their pursuit of Johnson was tied to Benson’s injury interest in the running back intensified when Benson was hurt.

Johnson was released by the Chiefs last Monday, the same day he was coming back from a two-week suspension tied to some controversial remarks he made about head coach Todd Haley and a posted a gay slur on his Twitter account.
