Teenage Boy Detained by French Police after Plans to Shoot Up School Foiled

A 13-year-old boy is now in custody after French police detained the teenager shortly after his plans to shoot teachers at his school were foiled.

According to reports the boy was heading to Saint-Esprit, a Roman Catholic school near Paris, with a loaded hunting rifle and 25 cartridges with the intention of killing several of his teachers as well as himself. The boy’s parents were apparently aware of his intentions after noticing the rifle was missing and alerted police who then secured the school prior to the boy’s arrival.

When the teenager spotted the police he turned away and was eventually found sitting in an internet café by his parents. Police then arrived and detained the boy.

Police believe the boy had no intention of making it out of the school alive, noting his final blog post declared “This is the last day of my life.”
