Microsoft Co Founder Paul Allen Battling Cancer

Paul Allen, who co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates, is battling cancer. A spokesman for his company Vulcan Inc. tells CNN that Allen has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a common form of lymphona.

The 56-year-old battled and beat Hodgkin’s disease more than 25 years ago. In a memo to Vulcan employees, his sister Jody Allen – also CEO of Vulcan – said he is undergoing chemotherapy.

“This is tough news for Paul and the family. But for those who know Paul's story, you know he beat Hodgkin's a little more than 25 years ago, and he is optimistic he can beat this, too,” the memo said, adding that Allen is still working and “has no plans to change his role at Vulcan.”
