Denver Nuggets Build Big First Half Lead, Hold on to Beat Portland Trail Blazers
Allen Iverson scored 31 points, dealt 10 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds and had 5 steals while Marcus Camby added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Denver Nuggets (31-31) past the Portland Trail Blazers (26-37) 107-99.
The Nuggets built an 18-point lead by halftime but saw their advantage slip away in the third as Zach Randolph scored 9 points and Brandon Roy added 8 as Portland completed a 34-23 quarter and went into the fourth trailing by just 7.
In the fourth quarter it was Iverson that kept the Nuggets in command, scoring 14 points and Carmelo Anthony scored 7 of his 29 points in the quarter to secure the win and reach the .500 mark and remain seventh in the Western Conference playoff race.
LaMarcus Aldridge led the Trail Blazers with 24 points and 17 rebounds while Robinson scored 26 points and grabbed 8 boards in the loss.
