Captain of Hijacked Tanker Dies from Injuries Sustained During Pirate Attack

The captain of a tanker hijacked by Somali pirates on Monday has died from injuries sustained during the attack.

Somali pirates attacked the MV Theresa VIII as it was sailing about 180 nautical miles northwest of the Seychelles. During the attack gunfire was exchanged and the captain, whose name has not been released, was struck.

Pirates said the captain of the Singapore-operated tanker died on Tuesday.
