NFL News: Brady Quinn Reportedly Fined for Illegal Hit on Terrell Suggs

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn has reportedly been fined by the NFL for an illegal chop block he threw on Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs during Monday night’s 16-0 loss.

Quinn delivered the hit to Suggs’ right knee following an interception in the third quarter. While Quinn has insisted the chop block was unintentional, saying he was trying to get at Chris Carr, who had intercepted the pass, many on the Ravens were angered by the hit.

Suggs suffered a severe MCL sprain as a result of the block and he could miss several weeks, something the Ravens can ill afford as they fight to stay in playoff contention.

Quinn apologized to Suggs and the Ravens for the play and on Wednesday revealed he had received a letter from the NFL notifying him of the fine. He did not disclose the amount of the fine but described it as “a good amount.”
