John Kerry: Daughter Was Under Legal Alcohol Limit

Senator John Kerry released a statement today saying his daughter Alexandra Kerry was not over the legal limit for intoxication when she was arrested for suspicion of DUI this morning.

“Alexandra Kerry was pulled over for an expired registration and was released after the results of a breathalyzer test at the police station were under the legal limit,” says spokeswoman Jodi Seth. “Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter.”

Kerry, 36, was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday. She was released at 5:25 a.m. after posting $5,000 bail.

Kerry is a film director and producer. Her film credits include The Last Full Measure, The Hazards of Good Breeding, Be Like Others and The Jena 6. She has a minor role in the 2000 film State and Main and 2004’s Spartan.
