The number five seeded Butler Bulldogs used a 17-0 run in the second half to overwhelm the number twelve seeded Old Dominion Monarchs and went on to win 57-46 to advance into the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Butler hit five three-pointers in the game changing run and turned a 32-29 deficit into a 46-32 lead. Pete Campbell hit three of those three-pointers on three consecutive offensive plays for the Bulldogs while AJ Graves and Mike Green added one apiece.
After the shock wore off it was too late for the Monarchs as they could never get any closer than nine.
Graves finished with 18 points for the Bulldogs while Campbell scored all 9 of his points in a space of 1:30 of the second half. Mike Green added 14 points and 9 rebounds for Butler who will now take on the number four seeded Maryland Terrapins in the second round.
