The number six seeded Vanderbilt Commodores made short work of the number eleven seeded George Washington Colonials, blowing them out 77-44 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Vandy jumped to a 13-2 lead against George Washington and then used a 12-0 run to go up 27-9. Before the Colonials knew what was happening the score was 43-14 and the game was all but over.
The second half was no better for the Colonials as the Commodores built a 34 point lead and cruised to the lopsided victory.
Vanderbilt shot 42 percent from the field while George Washington hit a miserable 27 percent. The Commodores will now face Washington State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
