NCAA Tournament Scores: UCLA Crushes Weber State to Advance to the Second Round
Aaron Afflalo scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Darren Collison added 14 points and 8 assists as the number two seeded UCLA Bruins beat the fifteen seeded Weber State Wildcats 70-42 to advance in the West Region.
Both UCLA and Weber State struggled early with their offense. The Bruins missed their first five shots while the Wildcats hit just one of their first nine shots. With over five minutes gone by in the opening half the Bruins held an unimpressive 6-4 lead.
But soon enough their outside shot was falling and they were able to ride the hot hand of Afflalo who finished the half with 16 points and helped the Bruins take a 37-19 lead at the break.
The Bruins led by as many as 34 in the second half before they emptied the bench.
UCLA hit 46 percent from the floor including 52 percent from beyond the three-point line.
