Los Angeles, California 11/20/2009 -- The Academy Awards qualifying week of public screenings for the feature film PUNCTURED HOPE ended yesterday. The film met an enormous success. People applauded, laughed, cried and discussed the issues with the Producer and with the Director.
Previously, members of the audience at the Montreal World Film Festival, have called PUNCTURED HOPE “The best awakening movie ever!”. In Los Angeles, viewers have stated that “This film will go far, it will go all the way!”
Thursday’s screening was followed by a Q&A session with Director Bruno Pischiutta and Producer Daria Trifu that has generated an important cultural discussion about social issues of our time. Industry professionals were present and unanimously loved the film. They recognized that PUNCTURED HOPE has all the qualities for a best picture nomination and that it has “Oscar written all over”. Robert Benz - Executive, Frederick Douglas Family Foundation - was in attendance. Frederick Douglas was one of the foremost leaders of the abolitionist movement, which fought to end slavery within the United States in the decades prior to the Civil War.
Also attending yesterday’s screening were Christian Calderon - Director/Producer, Sureel Inc.; James Nicholson - CEO/Founder CineVinci Entertainment Multimedia and Millennium Capital; May Wang - Actress, ABC "Cougar Town" with Courtney Cox & "90210" and Rainer Wieland - Founder Somnium, Inc. Wayne Slappy - Film Reviewer, The Power Player Magazine, had this to say following the screening: “It was amazing. Thanks so very much. Wow! What an important film. I met Bruno [Pischiutta] ... All I can say is thanks to you all.”
Reuters TV has completed production on the first editorial story about PUNCTURED HOPE. Producer Marie Lora of “African Journal” filmed last evening’s screening while a camera crew from Nairobi was sent to Ghana to interview two of the lead actors of the film. Following yesterday’s great success, the film will be back in L.A. for more public screenings and several private events.
A Film Director with a CAUSE - Bruno Pischiutta: “Our CAUSE is driven by high ideals and it is more important than anyone of us. It is a new world; it is time for a new morality!” "PUNCTURED HOPE - A STORY ABOUT TROKOSI AND YOUNG GIRLS' SLAVERY IN TODAY'S WEST AFRICA" is the first main stream feature film that is based on an African story interpreted by an all African cast and shot in Africa under the direction of visionary Maestro Bruno Pischiutta.
