NCAA Tournament Scores: Tennessee Volunteers Run Long Beach State Out of Tournament

The number five seeded Tennessee Volunteers had six players score in double figures as they lit up the scoreboard and beat the number twelve seeded Long Beach State 49ers 121-86 to advance in the NCAA tournament.

Tennessee’s starting five all hit double digits in scoring with Chris Lofton finishing with 22 points, JaJuan Smith had 21, Ramar Smith dropped 19, Wayne Chism scored 15 and Dane Bradshaw added 12 points in the rout.

Long Beach started the second half trailing 57-45 but the Volunteers opened up with a 16-2 run and buried the 49ers hopes of scoring the upset.

The Volunteers hit 58 percent of their 75 attempted shots, including 47 percent from beyond the three-point arc. The also dominated the glass, holding a 17 rebound advantage over the 49ers.

Tennessee will now face the Virginia Cavaliers in the second round.
