The number two seeded Wisconsin Badgers overcame a dreadful start and fought their way back to beat the upset-mined number fifteen seeded Texas A&M C.C. Islanders 76-63 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Wisconsin fell behind 19-2 in the first half and trailed by as many as 18 but went on a 12-2 run to end the half to cut their deficit to eight.
The Islanders started the second half strong and built a 37-26 lead with 15:06 remaining in the game but the Badgers began to find their shot and within five minutes the score was tied at 47-47.
Texas A&M C.C. went nearly nine minutes without hitting a field goal, scoring eight points off of free-throws during that stretch as the Badgers grabbed control of the game and were up 61-53 with four minutes to play in the game.
Kammron Taylor led the Badgers with 24 points while Alando Tucker finished with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Wisconsin hit 83 percent from the foul-line and forced 17 turnovers in the game.
The Badgers will now face UNLV in the second round.
