NFL Scores: Brett Favre Nearly Perfect as Minnesota Vikings Drub Seattle Seahawks

Brett Favre was 22/25 passing for 213 yards and four touchdowns, Sidney Rice had 89 yards receiving and a pair of TDs, Adrian Peterson collected 82 yards rushing and the Minnesota Vikings (9-1) allowed just four rushing yards in a 35-9 pounding of the Seattle Seahawks (3-7) on Sunday.

Favre got things rolling in the second quarter as he hit Percy Harvin on a 23-yard touchdown pass to put the Vikings up 7-0. That lead was extended to 14-0 five minutes later when Favre found Visanthe Shiancoe on an 8-yard toss and with less than two minutes left before half Bernard Berrian caught a 3-yard touchdown pass and Minnesota was cruising 21-0 at the break.

Minnesota left little doubt about the outcome of the game in the third quarter as Favre found his fourth touchdown pass, hitting Sidney Rice on a 7-yard toss and with a 28-0 lead the Vikings were clearly in control. Seattle finally managed to get some points on the board when Olindo Mare kicked a 40-yard field goal but that would be answered by the Vikings on their next drive.

With Favre on the sideline for the fourth quarter Tarvaris Jackson got in on the action and hooked up with Rice on a 34-yard touchdown pass to push the Minnesota Vikings advantage to 35-3. Seattle would add a one-yard touchdown run from James Forsett later in the quarter but the Seahawks fate had already been sealed.

Forsett was the Seahawks leading rusher on the day with nine yards on nine carries as Seattle could manage just 212 total yards against the Minnesota Vikings defense.
