NFL Scores: New Orleans Saints Drop Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Stay Perfect, Drew Brees Tosses 3 TDs in Win

Drew Brees was 19/29 passing for 187 yards and three touchdowns, Pierre Thomas rushed for 92 yards on eleven carries, Marques Colston had 74 yards receiving on five catches and the New Orleans Saints (10-0) defense forced four turnovers allowed just 219 yards of total offense in a 38-7 beating of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-9) on Sunday.

Tampa Bay actually jumped to an early lead in the game as Josh Freeman put the Bucs in front 7-0 with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Michael Clayton but Brees answered with a 4-yard TD toss to Robert Meachem to even the game and it was all Saints the rest of the way.

John Carney put the Saints in front 10-7 in the second quarter with a 38-yard field goal and New Orleans extended their lead to 17-7 later in the frame when Brees and Meachem hooked up again, this time on a 6-yard touchdown and the advantage would hold until halftime.

New Orleans didn’t slow their pace in the third quarter as Brees delivered another touchdown pass, this time an 11-yarder to David Thomas to push the lead to 24-7 and six minutes later Mike Bell scored on a 3-yard run and the Saints were cruising. Bell would add another touchdown run in the fourth to finish off the scoring in a dominant performance by the Saints.
