After Bloomberg cited two unidentified sources saying Switzerland’s Nestle SA is joining Kraft Foods, The Hershey Co. and Ferrero International SA in the fight for Cadbury, shares of the British chocolate maker Cadbury PLC hit their highest level in at least five years.
Both Cadbury and Nestle declined to comment.
Cadbury stocks leapt 2 percent to 816 pence ($1.36).
