The number five seeded Butler Bulldogs scored one point over the final 2:08 of the game but managed to hold on and beat the number four seeded Maryland Terrapins 62-59 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament.
A.J. Graves led the Bulldogs with 19 points including a big three-pointer with 2:09 left on the clock that gave the Bulldogs a five point cushion.
Maryland had tied the score 56-56 with 3:42 on the clock but managed just three points the rest of the way.
Butler attempted just six foul shots in the game, hitting four. It was from the foul-line that Maryland sealed their fate. The Terrapins were just 7-15 from the stripe. Maryland turned the ball over 17 times in the game as well. Butler will now play in the Sweet Sixteen for the second year in a row.
