Predicting Strong Demand Recovery, LDK Solar 3Q Profit Falls

Finance World News Update by EQUITIES Magazine

Chinese solar energy equipment producer, LDK Solar Co. Ltd., reported a 67 percent decline in earnings for the third quarter, but noted that rising demand should bolster its fourth-quarter revenue beyond Wall Street’s expectations.

Saying that its customers bought significantly more solar wafers and solar modules in the third quarter, the company said that weak selling prices eroded margins.

In morning trading, LDK shares rose 56 cents, or 7 percent, to $8.56.
