Men’s AP Top 25 College Basketball Rankings Week 2: Kansas Jayhawks Remain #1, Michigan State Spartans, Texas Longhorns Follow

The Kansas Jayhawks survived a scare from the Memphis Tigers last week to remain #1 in the men’s AP Top 25 college basketball rankings while the Michigan State Spartans and Texas Longhorns held on to their #2 and #3 spots respectively in the latest poll.

Villanova, boosted by wins over Dayton and Mississippi, jumped up a spot to #4 this week, switching spots with the Kentucky Wildcats which slipped down to #5 despite their win over Rider.

The Syracuse Orange owned the biggest jump of the week as they shot from unranked all the way to #10 based largely on their shocking 87-71 blasting of then #6 North Carolina. That loss cost the Tar Heels to tumble to #11 this week.
