NCAA Tournament Scores: USC Blows it Open in the Second Half to Beat Texas

The number five seeded USC Trojans started the game off quick and then used a second half surge to blow the doors off the number four seeded Texas Longhorns 87-68 and advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament.

USC jumped to a 17-7 lead in the first half and built their lead to 15 before Texas closed the half on a 10-2 run and cut their deficit to seven, 34-27.

Texas then scored the first three points of the second half and were within four but USC went on a 19-3 run and buried the Longhorns hopes.

The Trojans had all five starters score in double figures as Nick Young led the way with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Daniel Hackett finished with 20 points, Taj Gibson had 17 points and 14 rebounds and Lodrick Stewart and Gabe Pruitt each had 10 in the win.

Kevin Durant finished with 30 points for the Longhorns and A.J. Abrams added 20 points in the loss.

USC will now face North Carolina in the Sweet Sixteen.
