Purple Heart Member Nominated to Be Nat'l Geographic's Adventurer of the Year

Marc Hoffmeister, expedition leader of Operation Denali 2009, has been nominated to be National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year

Purple Heart Member and expedition leader of Operation Denali 2009, has been nominated to be National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year.  You can read about the expedition and cast your vote for him at http://adventure.nationalgeographic.com/2009/12/best-of-adventure/marc-hoffmeister

The Purple Heart is thrilled that he is being honored among an amazing group of people, the only disappointment of this recognition is that it is an individual award as every member of the Operation Denali team poured their heart and soul in to the effort.  They made it happen and their inspirational example continues to impact wounded warriors every day.

In addition to coverage in the Dec/Jan print edition of Adventure magazine, National Geographic is allowing readers to select a Reader's Choice award recipient from this year's class of Adventurers of the Year via online voting.  You can vote right now at the following link…http://adventure.nationalgeographic.com/2009/12/best-of-adventure/readers-choice-award

Please activate your social networks and generate as many votes as possible in an effort to continue to let the world know about the mission of Operation Denali.  This is a great way to further the message of Operation Denali and those who supported it.
