A Barefoot Standout at Tomorrow's Turkey Trot

Man running barefoot across America to participate in annual Cleveland footrace.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (November 25, 2009) -- Amongst a sea of 5,000 runners at tomorrow's 5-mile Turkey Trot, one man will stand out.

He has long scraggly hair and a full beard. He will be wearing a glinting gold helmet modeled after "The Flash" comic book character. And oh yeah, he's barefoot. Who is this man?

He is Tellman Knudson, and he's raising $100,000,000 by running across America barefoot.

It's all part of his
RunTellmanRun project. He departed New York City on Sept. 9 and is currently 540 miles into his route to the Santa Monica pier in Los Angeles. His mission is to raise $100,000,000 for homeless youth in America. To date he has raised nearly $270,000.

Knudson's run is currently halted near Marietta, Ohio. Due to a deep-impact heel contusion, he has been under doctor's orders to rest his feet the past two weeks. The Turkey Trot race will mark his return to the road.

"I'm jazzed to get back out on the road. After sitting around and letting my heel recuperate, this Turkey Trot is going to be a blast!" said Knudson after a press conference at the Bellefaire JCB Center yesterday.

Knudson will be joined by his wife, Jodi, and son, Torger, on the run, which starts and ends at the Cleveland Convention Center. All will be wearing bright red RunTellmanRun tee shirts.

RunTellmanRun's PR manager, Melissa Burdick, will be running alongside as well.

All media interested in interviewing or photographing Knudson should contact Burdick on her cell phone before, during or after the run at 440-454-5147.
