EX-SPY CHRISTOPHER BOYCE PUBLISHES SEQUEL THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN: AMERICAN SONS

Recent Revelations of NSA Spying and Whistleblowers Named as Traitors Frame Incredible Story and Add Relevance

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 20, 2013) – Following up the incredible story of Christopher Boyce and Andrew Daulton Lee, who were convicted of selling NSA secrets to the Soviet Union and were the subject of the 1985 motion picture The Falcon and the Snowman, comes the gripping sequel that finally tells what happened to both after conviction.

Aptly named The Falcon and The Snowman: American Sons, the new book was co-written by Christopher Boyce, Cait Boyce, and writer Vince Font. The book is a sometimes gritty and often heartbreaking true story of three people who overcame insurmountable odds. It offers a deeply personal, intimate look at the struggle for survival, the pain of regret, and the triumph of the human spirit against adversity.

Locked up for decades in some of the worst federal prisons in the United States, Boyce and Lee survived numerous murder attempts and spent years of their lives in solitary confinement until a young, idealistic paralegal named Cait Mills helped put them on the path to becoming free men. During this time, Mills (who later married Christopher Boyce) was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer that nearly derailed her effort. However, her stoic determination to conquer her illness and continue her work transformed her life and that of the two men who had resolved themselves to spending the rest of their lives behind bars.

In positioning the book alongside recent news headlines, Vince Font noted, “Recent revelations of the NSA’s spying on American citizens have made Christopher Boyce’s story more relevant today than ever before, not to mention the other headlines where whistle blowers have revealed secrets and been labeled traitors. Boyce’s actions in the 1970s were a reaction to what he perceived as the intelligence community’s increasingly deceptive and destructive policies. People like Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden have sacrificed their freedom for similar ideals."

Font added, "Having said that, most people will be surprised to learn that this book is not at all political. At its heart, this is a very human story of survival. It’s about owning up to grave mistakes and facing the pain of regret. At the same time, the book is about the struggle to overcome insurmountable odds and the ability of the human spirit to achieve redemption."

Readers have called the book “captivating,” “mesmerizing,” and “a devastatingly beautiful, inspirational story of vulnerable spirits and hope.” The Falcon and The Snowman: American Sons was released on August 20, 2013 and quickly became the #1 bestseller in its category on Amazon.com. The e-book is available now on the Amazon Kindle market. Plans for a print edition are also currently in the works.

Cait and Christopher Boyce were recently interviewed by CNN about the book and more interviews are scheduled. Authors Christopher Boyce, Cait Boyce, and Vince Font are available for interviews and speaking engagements and may be contacted via email at americansonsinfo@gmail.com.
