Silver Saturday Named by Wholesale Furniture Brokers
Wholesale Furniture Brokers continues to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas shopping season as it comes up with another big sale day which it has coined Silver Saturday. According to Matt Holmes, Wholesale Furniture Brokers' Marketing Manager, "We wanted to start a new trend. Our Black Friday sale is only for one day. We wanted to have another one day sale during the busiest shopping time of the year. We're hoping other retailers adopt the term and it will grow into a yearly event."
"There are still lots of people shopping for furniture on the Saturday after Black Friday. We still experience a high volume of traffic during this day. We wanted to recognize the importance of this day and call it Silver Saturday. We have experienced an even higher volume of traffic on this day compared to Black Friday in the past. There are still a lot of customers that are shopping at their local and online stores looking for the best deals for Christmas. Now is the best time for customers to shop online and find what they are looking for," adds Holmes.
In 2008, Wholesale Furniture Brokers experienced a 26% increase in traffic on Silver Saturday compared to the monthly average. Sales on Silver Saturday were down by 49% compared to the daily average. Sales on Silver Saturday were 69% lower compared to Black Friday. To counteract the decline in sales despite the rise in traffic, Wholesale Furniture Brokers is putting more emphasis on having products on sale for the high traffic day. Wholesale Furniture Brokers expects an increase of sales compared to the daily average by 95% and an increase of traffic compared to the monthly average by 30% for Silver Saturday this year.
Holmes says that Wholesale Furniture Brokers has added free shipping to even more products on sale during the Silver Saturday sale so customers who were already shopping on GoWFB.com and GoWFB.ca are encouraged to come back and find more deals.
Although the Silver Saturday sale is offered on both of Wholesale Furniture Brokers' websites, there are some products that are only available on GoWFB.com or GoWFB.ca. Customers who are interested in products on either website are encouraged to call in to Wholesale Furniture Brokers to order products from either website that they can't find.
Holmes assures that the Silver Saturday sale will become a regular yearly sale on GoWFB.com and GoWFB.ca, where customers can find even more new deals and products after Black Friday.
