Sacramento Kings Ron Artest Facing Four Misdemeanor Charges

Ron Artest, the often volatile forward for the Sacramento Kings, is facing four misdemeanor charges in connection to a domestic dispute police responded to earlier this month.

Artest will be arraigned on Thursday and faces charges of battery and corporal injury to a spouse, false imprisonment and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. While the charges carry a maximum sentence of one year in prison they were classified in a manner that would not permit Artest to be sentenced to prison for all four.

In 2004 Artest was sentenced to one year probation and 60 hours of community service following his role in the fight between Indiana Pacers players and Detroit Pistons fans. The NBA suspended Artest 73 games for the attack.
