Tom Cruise, having crafted his skill as a government agent in the “Mission Impossible” franchise, has reportedly signed on to utilize those skills once again. This time Cruise will be starring in a movie based on an assassination attempt of Adolf Hitler during World War II.
The untitled movie was acquired by United Artists last week. Both Cruise and Paula Wagner control the production company.
Bryan Singer, producer of “The Usual Suspects,” “X2,” and the anxiously awaited “Superman Returns” will direct the film. It was Singer who asked Cruise to take part in the movie and the three-time Academy Award nominated actor signed up on Tuesday.
Filming is scheduled to begin in early summer.
